My husband would probably argue to the contrary but in my opinion, at least I am not animal-obsessed. I just like my pets very much and feel like you can never have too much of a good thing! That’s all!

Anyway, my pride and joy has always been my aquarium, which admittedly is huge and represents the centerpiece of pretty much the whole house, but to be honest that’s exactly the way I like it!

Loud and proud! And needless to say, given the fact that it is right there for all to see, I can be quite picky when it comes to what I am and am not willing to put in the thing in terms of decorations and displays. I’ve no time for the tacky and won’t go near anything that could harm the fish, so instead I only ever go for things like the Marina Naturals Rock Outcrop - X-Large I recently found online.

The store I got it from was the Hay Needle website, which admittedly I had not heard of until my friend at work gave me the details. Lucky for me he did as it turned out to be one hell of a find for anyone that just like me is looking to make the best of what’s available to them.

As far as the Marina Naturals Rock Outcrop goes, what you’re looking at is a 100% natural rocky monument that looks the part in any fish tank without harming the water quality in any way. Anyone that has every taken home aquarium ornaments before will know that more often than not you can pretty much destroy them just by looking at them funny – they bring a new meaning to the word fragile. Not in this instance, though as the rock feature is just as solid as it appears.

I haven’t bought anything else from the store yet, but if this is anything to go on then chances are it will end up being the only place I buy my accessories from in future. And they aren’t just limited to fish stuff either, so it is definitely worth taking a look anyway just to see what’s on offer.

This is the first time I’ve ever found myself raving about a piece of rock, so I’d have to say that it must be a pretty good one!

Pros: The biggest pro would have to be the quality of it. Most of the time when you pick up an ornament for a fish tank, you can’t quite believe how light and flimsy it feels – knowing full well that at the first knock it will disintegrate into about a million pieces. With this one however it’s very different – you can feel the solidness and the weight behind it that lets you know it’s a piece of quality.
