Cabernet Matinee Singles - Case Pack:

There are some people that claim to take their chocolate seriously, but quite frankly they haven’t got a patch on me. The way I see it, there are too many things out of our control in life that those we can control should be enjoyed to the fullest and for me, chocolate ticks all the right boxes. This is why the Ghirardelli Store online has become one of my best friends over recent years and never fails to surprise me with its latest wares.

Now, please don’t misunderstand and assuming that we’re a family of 165KG slobs as we’re all actually very athletic and in prime health. We work hard, we play hard and we enjoy our chocolate hard – it’s a pretty good balance. I like to treat us to the weird and wonderful creations I find on the website from time to time and recently stumbled across the Cabernet Matinee Singles - Case Pack that caught my eye in a big way – and no…not only because I was excited to see that the box comes with around 530 of the little gems inside, there are other reasons as well!

I’m yet to try a single chocolate from Ghirardelli that I don’t like and have discovered that I have a particular affinity with some of the fruit variants. I’m also guilty of being rather in love with a good Cabernet Sauvignon and so when I saw that these were the grapes that featured heavily in this particular case of chocolate, I was sold. I made the purchase and I’m glad I did.

To tell you the truth, it’s a great website but can be very, very dangerous to go looking around when you’re hungry. I’m personally guilty of going online at the wrong time of day once or twice and ending up coming out with considerably more than I bargained for. But of course, it came to a good home and went down a treat with the family!

As usual, all the pieces came individually wrapped with meticulous attention to detail, which is great when you have hundreds of the things and play on keeping them around for a few months or so at least. Even we couldn’t eat 500 faster than that. The quality of the ingredients used is clearly first rate and the intensity of the chocolate is like nothing else you have ever experienced – believe me. If you think you have tasted real chocolate, you haven’t tasted a thing until you can a piece of this in your mouth.

I’ve also been daring enough to use a few of the singles in one or two recipes I plucked from the darkest corners of my mind and can confirm that it’s a winner in this department too! So, it doesn’t matter whether you’re looking for a gourmet snack as an occasional treat, an indulgence to gorge upon or a first class ingredient to cook with, you’ve got it right here.

I must admit, the hardest part is resisting the urge to go dive in the box and feast on what it holds, but if nothing else it has proved to be an excellent exercise in self-restraint for all of us! And we usually win…if not always.

Pros: The biggest pro is as would be expected the quality of the product itself – it is simply out of this world. Comparing this kind of chocolate to the usual mainstream variety is like comparing a Ferrari to a skateboard – the two just aren’t even in the same league in any way, shape or form. It’s hard to describe in words alone, but it’s the kind of thing that once you check out for yourself, chances are your habits will be changed once and for all. And you don’t have to go for the full 500+ case to see when the brand’s got to offer – there are much smaller packages on offer for purchase.

Cons: It does have a habit of making you a bit of a snob that looks down on the rest of the chocolate on the planet, but other than that, it’s a pure winner!

Review Body: I have a big problem – a really big problem. It involves an addiction – something that I have usually kept to myself. It is something that I don’t want many people to know about because it can be used against me. Yeah – it’s that bad – seriously! If anyone knew about this, I could be bribed to do almost anything. I knew that I was deeply addicted when I started to sneak on to the Ghirardelli website secretly. I would almost lick the computer screen – the chocolate looks so good. I would wait until I was alone at home and then I would sneak onto their site and spend hours on every page.

I finally realized how bad I was getting when they introduced a new flavor and I pretended to be a grocery store and ordered a case of the new flavor. Yes – I ordered a case of Cookies & Creme single squares – 530 individually wrapped squares.

I don’t know which is worse – that I ordered a case of 530 individually wrapped Cookie and Crème single squares or that I pretended to be a grocery store. Both of them are problems on many levels. It just wasn’t a grocery store I pretended to be – no, I had to pretend I was Safeway.

This is the flavor that you reward yourself because it has the perfect combination or creamy and slow-melting chocolate layers that have crunchy bits of cookie in it. I have 530 squares to savor and that will get me through the day until I am home again with my chocolate and their website.

Ghirardelli has become the longest continuously operating chocolate manufacture in America as they have been making their premium chocolate for more than 160 years. They are one of only a few American manufacturers that made chocolate from the cocoa bean all the way through to the finished products – the squares of Cookie and Crème chocolate. There is also a section of new flavors where Cookies and Crème was showcased. There are many articles and other information about how to use chocolate in cooking with recipes as well as special events and an entire section on their yearly chocolate festival. What sales this website the best is the photography – chocolate and jewelry all need to be photographed specially for the website to really work. The checkout is secure to protect retailers and other visitors’ personal and banking information. This was a very special shopping experience.

I am in the same boat as Alicia. I have been addicted to the Ghirardelli squares over the past few months. They are one of the best chocolates I have ever tastes. They are inexpensive and readily available. I also love all the different flavors including mint and orange. I get the assorted Squares bag every time I go for grocery shopping. I have one bag in my kitchen and the other at cubicle at work. I feel like I am eating a new chocolate each time. I just enjoy it so much. I have also started giving them out as gifts to coworkers and friends. They are also my favorite hostess gifts. I believe everyone should taste Ghirardelli once to know what I am talking about.
