MegaGold Premiere Centerpiece:

Some say there are two ways to do everything – the right way and the wrong way. I disagree though, and say there are three…the above two and then my way! Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that I am the undisputed queen of OTT when it comes to everything I do and everything I organize. The way I see it is that life’s too short to mess around with worries and doing things in a bit of a half-cocked sort of way, which means that if you’re going to do it, you should do it to the best of your abilities.

And this is what brings me neatly on to the MegaGold Premiere Centerpiece I recently picked up from the hollywoodmegastore.com website. I decided that I was going to throw a party with a Hollywood theme and took to the web to find the necessary trinkets and decorations to make things go with a bang as much as I could. This is an exact example of one of the things I never cut corners with and thus something that my husband regularly hides my credit cards over. Not that I cared – I wanted the MegaGold Premiere Centerpiece and I got it, and boy was I glad I did!

What you’re looking at is a centerpiece that’s actually much bigger than it looks on the picture and can be used as a stand for anything you want – in my case this being food. What you should be able to tell by looking at it however, is that it’s the kind of thing that creates the talking point of all talking points – it would be hard to walk into the room and not be blown over by its presence. Given the fact that this is exactly what I was after, I couldn’t have been happier with it.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that this is nothing more than a cheap and perhaps even disposable novelty, as it’s really nothing of the sort. It’s built of incredible quality material, has been put together with care and you can easily feel by the weight of it that it’s built to last. And really, now that it’s in my life, I have the most wonderful excuse to start organizing more and more parties than ever before!

The party was a few weeks back now and the centerpiece is still a pretty big talking point among the select circle I invited, which for me is just priceless in its value!

Pros: As far as pros go, there’s really only one to speak of and that’s the way it made my party all it could have been! I love to make an impact and get people talking, which is exactly what it did for me without me having to utter a word. It’s also functional and a great place to put nibbles or anything you want, but that’s by the by.

Cons: In my opinion it’s not the kind of thing you can easily find fault in – it’s just a darling thing to look at and I love it! It’s so me!

Not Your Average Novelty-Customizable Walk of Fame Star:

There are two types of people in this world – those that admit they have dreams of living the Hollywood lifestyle and those that aren’t so liberal with the truth. If you ask me, we all have one or two dreams of fame and fortune inside of us that for most will of course never come true, but it’s still nice to have the dream anyway. What’s more, it’s also nice to occasionally bring a little of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood home, which is exactly what I decided to do for my young daughter with the Customizable Walk of Fame Star I recently picked up from the Hollywood Megastore website.

Not that there was any kind of special occasion at the time, but I was just meandering around the web and came across the store purely by chance. Just a quick look at the kid of stuff they’ve got on offer and it really is difficult not to get transported to another world where you see how the other half lives with the lifestyles of fame and fortune. And given the fact that there isn’t a soul on the planet who’s more of a star to me than my own daughter, I thought I’d pick her up something to show her this – the Customizable Walk of Fame Star.

Sure, it’s a bit of a novelty and for this kind of price, you really wouldn’t expect much else, which is why I was pretty surprised to find out that the actual item that came to my door was way better quality than I had expected. In all, honestly I had expected a poor representation of the real deal with tired lettering and rubbish build quality to keep the price low, but in reality, I was wrong on all counts. Not only is the design of the thing quite remarkably authentic, but you can tell just by holding it that the quality is there throughout and it’s built to last.

It also came complete with the gold lettering kit needed to put my little girl’s name on it and seal her in the Hollywood history books forever – at least as far as her bedroom is concerned. She was absolutely bowled over by it – she was excited as heck to see it as it was in the first place and once her name was on it, she couldn’t wait to show it off to everyone.

And considering we’re talking way less than $20 for all of the above, this really is next to nothing to pay when you’re making someone’s day, week or maybe even their year.

She still hasn’t stopped smiling and I bought her the thing way over a month ago now!

Pros: As far as I am concerned, the biggest pro of all is the surprise it gave me when I saw how much better it looked in the flesh than it did on the screen. I hadn’t expected much for the price other than a pretty disposable novelty, but in actuality it’s the kind of thing you can be sure you’ll have for quite some time to come. As such, I would certainly put my name to it in terms of a brilliant gift idea for anyone. It was cheap as can be, delivery was fast and I really have nothing but good things to say about it.

Cons: I don’t have any negatives as it stands, the whole buying experience and the product are both great.

Website Experience: Like I said, I found the website by accident but I ended up staying there for quite some time, as it is both compelling and attractive. It offers an amazing array of souvenirs and memorabilia the likes of which I myself have never come across before, so it’s pretty safe to say it won’t be my only visit – I will be back to buy more!

Review Body: Do you like to give parties? Boy, I do – I love parties – going to them or giving them – it doesn’t matter – I just love parties. I have always wanted to give an Oscar party. You know – invite friends over to watch the Academy Awards. So, I decided this was the year. At least that is what I thought until I started to look for things to use for decorating. Boy, I didn’t know this was going to be so tough.

So as we all do, I got on the internet and found the perfect website. Hollywoodmegstore.com features 3000 Hollywood products and it is the perfect website to go to when you are giving an Oscar party.

The people who own this website have had 4 separate stores in Hollywood for over 20 years and are well known and respected in that community for hard work, service, style, taste, management and dedication. Through the years, their experiences in the Hollywood community have given them the ability to create a qualitative and well-presented inventory for their many diversified clients. They always have an eye on the latest trends in the entertainment and Hollywood industries and use this knowledge to update their inventory and have retained the most recent licensed Hollywood specialty items from Warner Bros, Disney, Universal Studio, as well as others.

They have so many movie props that I wasn’t sure where to begin. So, first I looked to see what bargains they had. We do have a new entertainment room, so I knew that I was going to decorate that room. I wanted to have a contest to pick the winners of the Oscars. So, at the front door to our house I had ballots made up with Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and a few more on the ballot. When they entered they had to fill out a ballot and the person or persons who got the most right were going to win a prize.

I then ordered several movie studio inspired posters, real movie clapboard, Walk of Fame coasters and a movie gift basket for the winner of our contest.

Then I found red carpet, so for $8 I ordered a roll of it and planned to put this on the walkway up to our front door. I had my camera on a tripod with flash and my husband and I took turn taking pictures as the guests arrived. We printed them out later and got pictures to everyone, so they would remember their night on the Red Carpet. The dress was black tie so some of the pictures came out really great!

Then I got 10 twelve-inch Walk of Fame Stars with gold lettering kits to customize them. I used them to mark everything – like ‘Rest Room’, ‘Coat Room’, ‘Interview Couch’, ‘Refreshments’, ‘Please Fill Out a Ballot’, and any others that I can think of. We just moved into the house so many of our friends haven’t been here before – I didn’t want anyone to get lost!

For refreshments, I ordered some popcorn boxes to keep filled up with popcorn, flute glasses with champagne or apple juice for non-drinkers. Then I ordered a package of Hollywood paper plates and paper napkins for other refreshments that we serve. I ordered a really innovative clapboard centerpiece for the refreshment table.

Pros: Perfect for decoration for a Hollywood Themed party, great customer service, very large inventory, not very expensive.

Website Experience: Very colorful website decorated with color that looked like Hollywood. Navigation bar on the top of the website and also on the left side is a great one. Easy to find the category you are looking for. There is so much in their inventory that no matter what size of area is, you will be able to find plenty to decorate with.
