I would probably qualify as being a creature of habit because when it comes to things like computers, I like to stick with what I know for as long as I possibly can. This is precisely why my last computer was practically part of the family, as by the time it decided to quit on me a few weeks ago, it was actually older than my kids. But what can I say; I loved it to death and knew my way around it just fine. It didn’t matter that the battery lasted about 45-seconds and the screen was good for about 8-colors, I just couldn’t see the point in buying a new one for $1,500 when I already had one.

Well, it turns out it wasn’t going to last much longer, which meant breaking with tradition and looking for a replacement. That’s when I got the biggest surprise of all – nobody told me that somewhere along the lines laptop computers became cheap! Really cheap!

I ended up going for the Toshiba Satellite C850D-ST3NX1 Laptop from the Toshiba Direct website, and to be honest, the reason that I bought it about 30-seconds after laying eyes on it was that I was convinced that the price must have either been a very limited sale or a mistake. I mean, less the $350 for a computer that compared to my previous one is more powerful than NASA?

Well, it turns out it wasn’t an offer and wasn’t a mistake either – I made a few trips back after I placed my order just to check! I’ve no idea how they got the price so low, but the Toshiba Satellite C850D-ST3NX1 Laptop comes with all the bells and whistles under the hood and Windows 8 in the driving seat. I figured it was going to take me some time to get used to the new version of Windows, but I ended up not quite believing how easy it was to pick up. And as for the computer, it’s as fast as lightning, runs as quiet as a whisper and has a battery that so far I haven’t once been able to wipe out in a single sitting. It also came with a year of Office 13 to try out which is just brilliant and as for the looks of the thing – it’s an absolute diamond!

The thing is, if I had handed over this kind of money and only got in return the direst and dreary of laptops that did the basics and nothing more, to be honest, I would have been content enough. As it stands though, tiny sum I paid out has given me a computer with more power and performance than I could ever have imagined from a brand I know I can trust!

I really wasn’t happy my old machine died on me, but let’s just say that I’ve gotten over the loss pretty quickly!

Pros: As far as value for money goes, it is just totally off the scale compared to what I was expecting. The notebook is as good as any I have ever seen or had my hands on and to think I paid less than $350 for the whole thing; it’s just crazy. I also have to say that Windows 8 was a pleasant surprise as I was convinced I would hate it and it would be difficult – but it turned out I was wrong twice! It’s so nice to be able to do more than just the basics and take the thing out and about knowing that it isn’t going to crap out on me almost the very second I turn it on!

Cons: None – it was a bargain.

Today is very special day for me because I bought a new laptop and I have not had a new one in over 10 years. I cannot tell you how excited I am! I felt like I was the only person living that had an old computer – so old that I couldn’t even watch a movie on it.

I ordered the new laptop two weeks ago and it was a custom job, so I just got it today. It is a Toshiba Satellite C850-BT3N11 Laptop. I got a larger processor than the original one provided, added Wi-Fi wireless networking, and had some software loaded – Office 2013 and Norton Internet Security Suite for 1 year and a 1-year warranty on the battery. Then I also bought a 3 year extended warranty.

So, my new toy came with: • Windows 8 • Memory 4GB DDR3 • 1000M Intel Celeron Processor • Intel HD graphics • 640GB storage 5400 RPM • 1366x768 TriBrite display • Super multi DVD drive • HDMI output • 802.11b/g/n wireless • Integrated IMP (720P) webcam • Satin Black Trax (program to track if stolen)

I got all of this for $776.00. That price was only good for that day. This is a special program that Toshiba is running and it is a limited deal – so if you have wanted to get a new laptop customized for a great price then I would suggest that you go to the Toshiba website now.

They had it all set up for me too – every program was working and the Wi-Fi picked up my son’s line and I was on the internet in less than 10 seconds. I was watching a movie within 10 minutes, but I didn’t watch all of it because I wanted to explore more.

Gosh, I am so excited – I know people that have been through 10 laptops since I bought my last one. They get one every year – but me, only one every decade!

Very often many of the laptop companies run these types of specials and these are always a good time to pick up a bargain on a computer. My problem is that I never had the money when I would find one of these specials. I have just been waiting for a special to show up. My son got bargains on computer desktops when deals like this have been online. I had bought it from Toshiba website, which is a really sleek and sophisticated looking website with navigation that is menu driven. The top menu has all the products they sell as well as a menu button for Specials and that was how I found the laptop. The left hand has a complete listing of all the laptops that they sell. Then at the bottom is a menu with large buttons with pictures of the laptop accessories. It is a very nice website that is very easy to find anything you are looking for quickly. The page that my laptop was on had a very large picture of the laptop, a list of items that comes with the laptop and then another box where you can pick out the custom items that you want. As you pick out the custom items, the price is recalculated for you and it makes for a great experience shopping.

I need to go now – I have worlds to explore, set up a Facebook, and Twitter account. I will probably be up all night tonight playing with my new toy – but I’m sure there are some of you that understand. It’s almost like getting a new car and you immediately want to go visit someone you haven’t seen in years.

Wow - this is just as exciting as Christmas!!

Pros: Toshiba loaded with everything, Wi-Fi, DVD, lots of memory and RAM, full copy of Office 2013, 1 year of Norton protection, tracking program if stolen, HD graphics, and custom with a bigger processor. Very good price. This is a special program where the price was only good for that day. It was shipped within two weeks and it came with a lot of games and other programs. Oh, and it has a webcam. So, I can say it is fully loaded!

Review Body: If you are looking for a tablet that is not only good looking, but one that will give you great performance as well, look no further than Toshiba’s Excite 10 SE Tablet with 16GB memory. Having used this tablet for the past three months, I have nothing, but good things to say about it.

Toshiba has really outdone themselves with some of the features in this tablet and I particularly love the fact that it runs on Android’s 4.1 Jelly Bean. One of the things I love about this tablet is that it has a pretty impeccable battery life and can run for up to 12 hours. This means that the extended battery life does not affect performance at all.

If like me you love to watch your favorite videos online, then you will be glad to know that this tablet unveils graphics with clarity and sharpness. This is all thanks to the 12 core great performance graphics provided by NVIDIA processor. The tablet also supports various multimedia and internet formats, which means that you are not confined to viewing just a certain format of videos or even pictures. When it comes to entertainment, I have the full package. Thanks to the stereo speakers and SRS sound technology that comes with the tablet, the sound is really clear.

If you love taking pictures, you will also be glad to learn that the tablet has two cameras placed on the back and the front. The rear camera is clearer than the front and this is because it comes with digital zoom and auto focus. It also helps that the back camera has a 3MP camera while the front one has less pixels at just 1.2MP. However, the front camera is a high definition web cam fully loaded with a microphone and you can therefore Skype or have other video calls conveniently.

Pros: The tablet has a sleek design and it is easy to carry around. Some of the major pros I find with this Toshiba tablet is the fact that it has such an incredible processor that allows me to perform my tasks seamlessly and quick too. I can also access internet easily anywhere as long as there is Wi-Fi which is convenient.

When it comes to visuals and sound, I have no complaints because I get clarity with both. The memory is large enough to accommodate all my entertainment features and work without feeling the need to delete anything as I look for space. The Android platform also makes it easy for me to customize my home screen and I can put on some of my personal graphics and place my important features on the home screen as well.

Cons: It is hard to find anything negative to say about this tablet. However, I would have appreciated HDMI connectivity.

Website Experience: Toshiba Direct is a good site when it comes to getting genuine products. I can trust that I will not get a knock off which is something that I have suffered with another site. When it comes to user experience, I can say that it is not hard to find what you are looking for as pages are well laid out and detailed as well.

Final Notes: This is without a doubt a good tablet to have. Toshiba is a great brand and one that is respected for providing great electronics, so you can bet that you will not be disappointed. I also found the price to be quite fair considering the fact that the tablet comes with a memory of 16GB; this is less than what competitor tablets of the same size are going for.

So, when I knew I wanted to buy my thirteen-year-old her first computer, one she didn’t have to share with me, I thought about Toshiba. I am so glad I did. I wasn’t looking to spend a fortune, but I did want to get something she could be happy with. I found it in the prebuilt Toshiba Satellite C850-ST3NX1 Laptop. It fit right within my budget and thank goodness, Toshiba has some great shipping prices and delivery times. It’s already here, wrapped and ready to make my daughter the happiest kid on the block.

I do like the Toshiba laptop that I have but from listing to friends who just bought from them, it seems as though their quality has declined in recent years.

That's really a shame because I've never had a problem with my little Toshiba but after listening to everything they went through, I'm considering going with a different brand altogether when I do need to replace it. I like the company but, like so many others, their quality does seem to be going downhill. I hope the downward slide doesn't continue

I think Lester S. has the right idea with Toshiba. Their products are great, however, the pricing of some of their high-end laptops and tablets tend to be higher as opposed to their competitors. Nevertheless, their products deliver utmost performance, especially the video quality of some of their HD televisions. However, lower pricing for sizes on TVs and possibly their tablets would be more appealing to other buyers.
