MacKeeper 16-in-1 utility software for Mac-brand hardware:

About 6 months ago I purchased MacKeeper application from the Zeobit website after using the free trial for a couple weeks. My Macbook computer, which I use for work extensively, was beginning to run slowly for the first time since I bought it. I heard about MacKeeper when I went researching for something that could make my computer faster, but also provide some security and clean up the unnecessary files.

Previously, I had downloaded a free Mac app to permanently erase all those small, redundant files created by programs I've tried to delete. Unfortunately, it didn't work so well, failing to wipe out the many dispersed files created by my old Adobe programs. I needed all this junk to go, so my computer could get back up to speed.

So next I tried out MacKeeper since my neighbor recommended it as a way to keep caches clear and even to get my Mac back if somebody were to steal it. It happened to him, and he was able to recover his computer after it was taken from his table at Starbucks about a year ago. My Macbook is my livelihood, so his story really moved me to secure my asset both physically and digitally.

After downloading the trial version, I saw many features I was not aware of, like anonymous web browsing and several neat optimization functions. I used it to set up the applications I want to launch as soon as I open my computer in the morning to work, from my web browser to my calendar and iTunes.

Needless to say, once the trial was up, I purchased the full version. It was a good buy because it comes with many different essential utilities, and I still use it today. MacKeeper helps keep my Macbook happy.

Pros: The MacKeeper is useful for speeding up your Mac and improving performance by eliminating extraneous files from your hard drive. It's a solution for anyone who struggles with staying organized.

The best thing about MacKeeper is its multi-functionality. You get 16 of the most crucial utilities for the price of one to keep your Mac clean and secure. It's a good value.

Cons: Several of the software's functions can be had for free with safe online freeware. Also, there is no viral threat to Macs, so the virtual security functions are redundant.

Mackeeper Software

Mackeeper is a Mac cleanup program that you probably seen pop up at least once a week while browsing the web on your MacBook. At first I ignored these pop-ups, but after a while as my Mac started to run a little slow as it had more and more space taken up on the hard drive, I began to consider buying the download.

This aggressive marketing has obviously paid off. After what seemed like an infinite amount of pop-ups, I decided to give Mackeeper a try. At first I was delighted as this was my first Mac computer and I could see a bit of improvement. The thing of it though is that all Mackeeper (and most other cleaners) does is find files that you can delete to free up space on your Mac. If you have any computer savvy, once you have ran the program once you can literally perform all the maintenance again and again without the help of Mackeeper.

I also downloaded CleanMyMac in order to run a bit of cross-analysis. While both essentially do the same thing, I think that when you factor in support and ease of use, that CleanMyMac wins hands down. Either way, like I stated above, you can run normal maintenance on your Mac and you can avoid purchasing either one. Also, CleanMyMac offers a permanent free demo, so if you want you can just scan your computer and then look up the files and remove them. That's what I did at least lol.

Pros: It is very convenient to have all of your cleaning needs bundled up into one place. You scan, you delete, and you go back to your normal life. Mac cleaner also has some helpful capabilities like deleting duplicate files and such. If you have limited experience and expertise with computers, then Mackeeper is a good choice.

Cons: Getting full support is very expensive and simply not worth the money. For the amount of money you spend you can read online materials for about an hour and learn how to clean up your Mac by yourself. Unless you are lazy or computer illiterate you should not buy Mackeeper. Also CleanMyMac is a much better software because it does more for your Mac in my opinion.

Final Notes: Although this is a decent application, I would not recommend it unless you have no computer savvy whatsoever. It is most definitely not worth the $89.95 or even the $59.95, but it might be worth the $39.95 for the convenience factor.

Just purchased the Mackeeper program for all three of our Macs. Easy to use and install and quickly deletes the garbage in you system.

There is no need to purchase any software that so says it can speed up your computer no matter if your running Windows, Linux or Mac's OSX. Some of these programs can cause more problems than it solves. I do not recommend it.
