It was just over a week before my birthday and I was in search of the ‘perfect’ bathing suit for my birthday weekend celebration. I had spent hours surfing the web trying to find something I liked, but after what seemed to become an endless search I decided to drive to a nearby department store to take a look for myself instead of just clicking on pictures. After only a few minutes, I found several potential candidates on my quest for just the right swim suit. The third suit I tried on instantly caught my eye while it was still on the store’s shelf, but standing before the mirror wearing it was a completely different experience altogether… I felt like a totally different person with this suit on. All of a sudden I felt more attractive, physically fit, alluring, and quite confident!

I unknowingly managed to pick my favorite swim suit out right away – it was the Fifth Avenue Halter 1-Piece by UjENA Swimwear. This swim suit is a classic styled, one-piece swim suit that seems to hug and snuggle against every curve of my body. The absolutely perfect fit and feel of the swim suit against my skin gave me an increased sense of confidence that made me feel as though I will definitely get noticed while I am at either the beach or at poolside. I was pleasantly surprised to see all of the many different sizes available, but at the same time I was a little disappointed that the suit was available in only two colors. The sexy, low-scoop in the back looks incredible, too.

The swim suit’s extended torso creates the illusion that I have a leaner, longer body while the shirred halter-style top enhances my bust line and ties behind my neck for easy adjustments and a comfortable fit. The Fifth Avenue Halter swim suit provides full and complete coverage of my rear end and has lower cut legs. The swim suit’s liner ensures that nothing I would want ‘showing’ will be seen through the lightweight nylon and Lycra fabric. In addition, the inner padding slightly increases and highlights the bust line and can be removed according to each individual’s personal preference and style.

Pros:
This swim suit is extremely comfortable, fully lined, and has removable padding to accommodate each individual’s body shape and personal style. The fabulous design is quite trendy yet its sleek, classic look will never go out of style.

Cons:
It is only available in two colors and is not suitable for sun bathing while using tanning oils. Over an extended period of time, the tanning oils begin to destroy the suit’s elasticity if not removed right away by washing the suit. In addition, the halter top does not provide ample support for the larger breasted woman, although the straps are tied behind the neck and can be adjusted accordingly.

I started wearing Ujena swimwear when I lived in Florida and I was at the beach all the time. Now that I’m in New Jersey, I still wear Ujena swimwear to the shore every summer and on vacations. It is important to me to have a fashionable bikini while I’m on the beach. By getting my swimwear online I know that it’s going to be unique and not look like any one else’s. Department stores do not always have the newest designs and you run the risk of someone on the beach wearing your same suit. Everything from fashion tips to fit your figure, to keeping bikini lines clear with the perfect Brazilian wax. It is much more than an online catalog because parts of it are like reading a women’s magazine with tons of health tips and advice.

Cons: The only negative is that when buying swimwear online you really have to know your size. When I first started shopping for Ujena suits, I had to return one because the bikini top was too small. You can’t try the suits on so if you’re not sure about the size, you have to guess. Again, this would not even be a big deal once you know your size. All the suits fit true to size. There is free shipping for all purchases over $100, which is a huge perk.

Review Title: Sleek and Sexy…The Bikini, Not Me!

Title: Le Bikini Noir

Review Body: Yes I admit it – this isn’t the most obvious time of year to be raving about a skimpy bikini or really anything that doesn’t have sleeves and a fur lining. Nevertheless, I was lucky enough to be lavished with a trip to the Caribbean by my long-suffering husband last month and since he insisted on paying for the trip, I though the least I could do was treat myself to a new bikini he could look at me in.

I know, I’m just too generous.

Anyway, I was pointed in the direction of Le Bikini Noir from Ujena by a friend at work who understood that my general sense of style is not exactly up there with the greats. Far from it in fact as I’m usually happy with whatever I find on the shelves that fits me. That was however, until I took the Le Bikini Noir on holiday with me and can safely say discovered in the process the finer side of beachwear. Quite literally, it converted me in about 30-seconds flat.

Don’t get me wrong, I really loved the thing from the first moment I saw it on the website. Just take a look and what you’ll see is a stunning black lace bikini the likes of which is about as timeless in its beauty as any I’ve ever laid eyes on. It isn’t about showing off or making a statement, but rather making a statement by showing that you don’t have to show off to look good. …are we keeping up?

Lace has been around for God knows how long and still looks every bit as stunning today. True, this is for me the first time I have ever seen lace used in a bikini like this, but it really couldn’t be better suited to it. The French inspired design is wonderfully simple and understated, while the fine detailing is enough to draw attention away from any parts of your body you might not be too proud of…which for me is most of it.

Nevertheless, the Le Bikini Noir has me strutting my stuff down the beaches feeling like I’d just stepped off some catwalk from one of those fashionable countries of the world I haven’t the slightest clue about – I really did feel great!

As now we’re back in the real world…sadly…I can say with great joy that it has survived many a washing and drying without losing any of its shape or sparkle, which means it is well and truly lined up for next time he decides to treat me to a little wintertime jaunt. Not that I’m expecting this to be anytime soon…last month’s was the first in ten years!

Still, mustn’t grumble!

Pros: I’m all about timelessness and simple elegance, therefore for me it’s about as perfect as it gets. The design is simple, but at the same time sleek and sexy, the materials are first-rate and you know it has been put together in a way that will see it lasting…and lasting. It also happens to be the second most comfortable thing I own apart from my pajamas, though I wasn’t planning on strolling around St. Lucia in those! Not this time, anyway.

Cons: I don’t really have any so far to be honest. It was on offer for a price I’ve paid way more than for inferior bikinis, it’s served its purpose quite perfectly and it’s looking like it will be with me for some time to come. All in all, a pretty sweet deal.

Website Experience: The Ujena website is perfect for a technophobe like me who prefers pretty pictures and easy to click buttons than reams of text and boxes to tick. I found what I needed really quick and managed to handle the checkout in seconds. Also, the bikini was at my home and in my hands in less than 48-hours, which is pretty great if you ask me.
