I was looking for a capable athletic shoe with great support that I could use just to do my daily walks in. As a 200-pound man I am constantly looking for shoes with lots of support to sufficiently accomodate my heftiness. I was also looking for something that could perhaps aid my back pain, or at least make sure that I wouldn't make my back pain any worse when exercising. I had previously heard some good things about athletic shoes from the company Gravity Defyer from a guy I used to work with before we both retired, so I decided to give them a try, given that after some research I found that their products were competitively priced with other brands of shoes I had previously purchased but experienced various problems with.

During my online research I gained increasing confidence of Gravity Defyer's brand of athletic shoes. They featured a physical spring dubbed the "trampoline sole" in the heel for an added pep in the step which I found to be a neat selling-point I had not previously ever experienced. The shoes themselves looked comfortable enough in the pictures, while I mainly noted how thick and supportive the soles of the shoes appeared to be from the outside. From a style perspective, I initially felt that the GDefy shoes left much to be desired. I constantly found myself favoring the available women's style options in all their various colors a little more than most of the men's options I usually found to be rather drab and conservative in overall comparison.

After musing over all of the options available to me both in local shoe shops as well as online, I decided that I would give the Gravity Defyer brand a try. Given that I could not source a pair from any of the shoe stores in my small town, it was obvious I would need to go about acquring them through an online retailer. Browsing Gravity Defyer's own site I got a pretty good idea of what different product lines and choices were available to me and what their general prices were. Then I did a more comprehensive search and found that I could purchase a pair from Amazon for a few dollars less on shipping than even Gravity Defyer's own website could provide. As a frequent Amazon customer I had good faith in ordering the running shoes from them and knowing that their checkout process, shipping and handling as well as their return policy would all be excellent, and they were. I ended up with a pair of XLR8 III shoes in black and red that took just 3 days via Amazon to show up on my doorstep in great safe packaging. Trying them on they were a perfect fit, and I immediately noticed and appreciated the supportive soles.

Pros: The G-Defy XLR8 III athletic shoes have a nice thick and supportive sole. They didn't take very long to "break in" as is usually recommended for athletic shoes. The spring technology in the sole I find to be both innovative and preferrable to most other running shoe soles. The shoes do an adequate job of supporting my extra bodyweight, and do not inflict pain on my already-ailing back. The pair I chose come in a nice black and red color combination which matches those of my alma mater too, and the physical material of the shoes is water-resistant and breathable as well as easily-cleanable.

Cons: The XLR8 III athletic shoes do air on the heavier side of most athletic shoes I have worn in my day. I think this is attributable to the advanced spring mechanisms present in the rear soles. Sometimes the heft of the shoe feels like a hinderance to a simple task like casual walking. Also, sometimes I worry about the durability of the materials used for the shoe given that at times I have noticed some of the material being a bit too stretchy or rubbery-feeling.

One of the greatest features of this box is the specially designed lid. Even when the lid is closed, you are able to admire your extensive watch collection. It is because the lid employs a window made of poly-resin. This material is extremely durable and nearly indestructible. Even if you were to somehow drop your case or anything of that nature, you can rest assured that your case, along with your watches, are still safe. It’s great to know that I can still admire the watches that I have worked so hard to collect without even opening the case. I have a sort of snapshot of my beautiful watches.

What about the interior? Of course, it’s nothing less than spectacular. Once again, the attention to detail is amazing. The inside is so soft and supple that you won’t believe the feel. The reason is that the designers of this watch case used the softest felt around. Once you’ve felt it, there’s nothing else to compare it to. This is not only the interior that utilizes this felt but the lid as well. When the lid is closed, you know that only the softest material is coming in contact with your watch. In this way, there’s no chance of any scratching, peeling or chipping to your beloved watches.

Each compartment is equipped with a small pillow to house and showcase your watch. It should come as no surprise that the pillow is hand stitched and carefully constructed. Your watches are not only being held securely but fashionably and stylishly as well. There are 24 of these specialized compartments to hold your watches, which is the perfect size for most people. I have a few more watches than that, so I often alternate them because of which each of my watches enjoy the luxury of being in this beautiful cherry wood watch case.

This case has been absolutely perfect for me. I never worry about my watches in this case because I know that the designers made sure that everything is absolutely perfect. I love the window, so I can admire my watches without opening the case and exposing them to the elements. I just love the look and feel of this case; it doesn’t get any better than this.

Pros: I have nothing but positive things to say about this case. It is handsome, durable, roomy and extremely secure. It is extremely high quality.

Cons: I wish there was a case that could hold 30 watches.
