If you are looking for a new way to cook that same old food, you are not alone. Pork and some other meats can get dry quickly when you attempt to cook them in the traditional manner. The French discovered this long ago, and they invented a cooking style that is known by culinary artists as sous vide. This French term translates into English as “under vacuum.” The sous vide method of cooking once took the skill of an experienced French chef, but thanks to Eades Appliance Technology, LLC, this water oven cooking technique can be performed by anyone with the SousVide Supreme.
Who is Eades Appliance Technology?
Eades Appliance Technology was co-founded by husband-and-wife medical doctors Mary Dan and Michael Eades. The Eades are specialists in nutrition and weight loss, operating a chain of weight-loss clinics with locations from coast-to-coast.
The Eades got the idea for their water oven appliance while on a business trip. Room service at their hotel brought them the most impressive pork chop either of them had ever eaten. They were so impressed, they called down to the kitchen to ask about its preparation, and the kitchen staff told them it was prepared sous vide.
How it Works
The SousVide Supreme is a type of water oven. It vacuum-seals the food before it is immersed into a water bath with a precisely controlled cooking temperature. One of the greatest benefits of this cooking technique is that it makes overcooking virtually impossible. Once the food is in the water oven, it can keep for up to 3 days without loss of flavor or spoilage.
The SousVide Supreme comes in two styles: an 80-ounce capacity model and the 48-ounce capacity “Demi” model. The cooking temperature on both models can be adjusted to your personal preference. The appliances are also small, so they can be used on any countertop.
