Review Body: If you haven’t yet tried food that has been cooked using the sous vide method, then let me first tell you that you’re overdue a treat. If on the other hand you’re like me and are already sold on the idea, chances are you might have been looking at the various ways and means by which you could recreate the results at home.

Needless to say, when it comes to vacuum sealing meat and carefully controlling water temperatures, these are two things the average kitchen isn’t really kitted out for. I’d tried my hand making a few sous vide recipes here and there, but found more often than not that I was just ruining some otherwise seriously good produce.

You can probably understand my excitement therefore when my wife sort of authorized me to pick up the SousVide Supreme Demi from the website of the same name, which as far as I could see was the closest thing I was ever going to get to owning my own restaurant kitchen. The same goes for the actual sous vide bath too – it’s literally as easy as selecting the water temperature you need to cook whatever it is you’ve put in the bag and that’s it…job done!

The difference made by using a sous vide bath compared to the harsh temperatures of an oven or stove top is out of this world. This thing makes sure that meat tastes exactly as it should, rather than tainting it with punishing temperatures which for all intents and purposes sap the flavor, the nourishment and the life right out of most of the food we eat.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have any delusions of grandeur and won’t be entering the next series of Masterchef, but for those that like the idea of creating stunning quality meals at home with absolute ease and for pennies every time, I haven’t seen anything that comes close to the SousVide Supreme Demi in quite some time.

Pros: Like I said, it is literally so easy to use that all you have to do is push a button and let it take over the hard work. This represents cooking with science rather than guesswork and therefore rather than hoping for a perfect result, you are guaranteeing yourself flawless perfection every single time. It’s all about keeping things simple and enjoying food at its most pure and untainted – exactly how it should be. As far as the price goes, some would argue that it’s a bit too much to pay for a gadget, but once you start experimenting with the thing you will rediscover food in ways you never dreamed possible.

This incredible cooking method is now accessible to home cooks. The sous vide cooking technique involves cooking food in vacuum-sealed pouches, submerged in a water bath held at a precisely controlled temperature.

I was very impressed by how easy this water oven was to use and how well my dishes turned out after using it. This is by no means going to replace an average oven, or even a microwave for that matter, but it is a handy little gadget to have around the house, especially if you like trying new things when it comes to meal preparation. As much as I like it, I will say that I thought the price was a bit high for what is basically a one trick pony.

The Sousvide supreme is an interesting small appliance for the kitchen. I was not sure that I would like it when I first saw it advertised. I mean, it's a small oven that uses water to cook the food. Not exactly something that you would think would work. However, it does. The thing seals the food and then puts in the water to cook. This helps you cook the food completely while also avoiding overcooking it. I use my Sousvide about twice a week. I'd love to use it more. It's definitely helped me in the kitchen many a time.

It's been two months since I bought it and I haven't had any problems with it. It cooks my food perfectly, the meat come out tender and juicy.
