I’m excited today because my new Schwinn Airdyne AD6 exercise bike arrived and I am thrilled with it. I call it new because they have added many new features as well as redesigned it. It was super before, but it is even better now.

For instance, look at these new features: NEW frictionless, quieter fan; NEW shrouding on BioSynch linkage system for workouts that are safer; and New RevMeter RPM gauge that is perfect for interval training. They also added an integrated bottle holder and the bike has a new console layout with visible metrics continuously. Other new features include: NEW updated styling for today’s home and gym environments; NEW and more convenient transport wheel location; NEW foot straps on pedals that are self-balancing for greater control of motion; and NEW accessories such as reading rack and wind screen.

So, I am a happy camper – in fact as I am biking right now, my laptop is on the new reading rack so I can write while biking. While I am writing, I can do my sprints on the bike. The bike is at the highest resistance for about 1 minute and then it drops down to medium or slow for 2 minutes, then repeat. I am also so glad that I was able to get this because hot weather is already beginning and it gets too hot during the summer for me to bike outside during extremely hot weather and even can’t think about taking the hot car to the gym.

This Airdyne Exercise Bike is sharp looking. It is configured that the wind resistance is more when you are pedaling the hardest. This is great for interval training. The console is designed to show key data all the time and it has a very unique RevMeter RPM gauge that is perfect for the interval training that I love doing. This Schwinn AD6 Airdyne bike is a must-have for all gyms and is excellent cardio equipment for my home gym.

Pros: Newly redesigned with new features added; it cools you as you exercise; uses information from the “computer”; it operates very smoothly; and I don’t have to be outdoors biking. I love cardio workouts on a stationary bike and with this bike the faster you go the more resistance there is during those high intensity intervals. Also credit is available for buying this bike when you don’t want to lay out a large amount of money at one time. Over all this is a great stationary bike for me.

Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym:

About six months ago, I realized that I was spending too much money on the gym plus the time to get there, workout, get dressed, get to my next stop – takes up a lot of time. I am at the point where I wanted something to have at home, so I could work out when I wanted to.

From May to September, I lost about 30 lbs. when using a different system, but my flab wasn’t changing to muscle. So, in September I started looking around at gym equipment for home use and I ended up buying the “Bowflex Xtreme SE” home gym, which I and many other believe is one of the better selling Power Rod gyms on the market today.

In only just four to five weeks, I could not believe the uplift in my shape as well as my strength that I am in compared to when I was using other equipment – so, I believe this is a great product. This system lets you change exercises much more easily and quickly with no changing of cables being needed between exercises. It now includes a shoulder harness for abs crunch and also has an adjustable seat that is now designed ergonomically.

Although this system is a bit expensive, special financing is available subject to approval of credit. The product features Power Rod resistance of about 210 lbs. that is the standard these days. This offers me resistance, or weight, that to me feels as good as or better than free weight and without risk of joint pain that often can be linked with free weights.

It also has a very innovative no-change cable pulley system, which lets me move from squats to leg workouts to lats without changing cables. So, I am keeping my heart rate up, as I am not stopping during the workout.

There is also an angled lat bar attached to a lat tower, which helps to build up my back and shoulder muscles quickly, especially with the integrated tower. There is also 4-position squat station/ lower pulley for helping with building glutes, quads, and hamstrings.

The all-new harness and pulley bar for abs helps build strong and defined abs. The leg extension feature has been a great help for exercises to develop muscular, strong legs. And the new design also offers added support for the back with the adjustable seat ergonomically built, especially when doing knee support, leg exercises, and for lat exercises.

It also features a five-way ankle cuffs/hand grips planned to add performance and flexibility to any workout. Another thing that I like most about it is its compact size for smaller spaces for working out.

I didn’t only like the system, but I bought out, but also the website I bought it from. This website also has other Bow-Flex equipment and is a small menu driven website. The main menu is at the top of the page, taking you to sections built around other equipment as well as a store with miscellaneous equipments. On the Bow-Flex Xtreme SE home gym section, there are many photos of the gym from many different angles and they can be expanded into large pictures for better examining details. This is a well-designed website with lots of information, which made for a great shopping experience as far as I am concerned.

This is a great piece of workout equipment – and it certainly helped me. Very much worth the money I spend to get a system to use at home. I am still losing weight, but now I also am building muscle and looking 100 percent better than I did a year ago – it really is a new me.

Pros: Power Rod Resistance equal to 210 pounds, Four-Position Lower Pulley/Squat Station, Pulley System with No-Change Cable, Lat Tower with Angled Lat Bar, Ergonomic Seat that is Adjustable, and Shoulder Harness Abdominal Crunches. Also works well in smaller spaces and comes with several other special features. Although a bit expensive, there is a credit plan you can try to get approval for. Having used this machine up against another one, I noticed almost immediate difference in changing flab to muscle as well as loss in weight.

The weight is consistent as the machines that are found in gym that cost thousands of dollars. The Revolution also takes very limited space and is really amazing when you think about how much that it can actually do. Changing from one exercise to another only takes seconds and this is not just some advertising promise – it really takes only seconds.

Even more impressive is that the Bowflex Revolution is a quality product – it is strong, works smoothly and it is also convenient. This is really a great product. It is one of the most versatile home gyms I have ever seen or tested. Revolution features what is called SpiraFlex® Resistance Technology which is their new innovative resistance technology that duplicates the same benefits as free weights.

I can feel the difference when compared to other home gyms that I have tried. There is 220 lbs of resistance standard for upper body workouts. Then there is up to 600 lbs of resistance for workouts for the lower body. It features what is called the Freedom Arms that are arms that independently move into 10 positions together with 170 degree of adjustments. The leg press station works with 600 lbs of resistance and has a power and range that is usually not seen in a home gym.

There is an attachment that allows the preacher curl. By allowing elbows to rest on the platform, grasp handles that are in the inner part of the leg/ab accessory with a grip that is underhand to do this exercise. This gym also features a vertical bench where you can press a wide assortment of variations of exercises. Leg extensions can be used for exercises that develop muscular, strong legs.

Revolution also features a 5-way hand-grip/ankle cuffs designed to add performance and flexibility to any workout. The functions of these cuffs include a non-grip cuff, regular grip, foot cuff, ankle cuff, and a shoulder cuff. It also features a multiple pulley/cable positions intended to change the resistance angle which increases the efficiency of any exercises. Best of all it features a rowing machine built-in to use for cardio workouts that burn calories, and allows cardiovascular warm-ups and cool-downs.

Entire gym folds up to a compact size of 55 inches x 38 inches. It also comes with a “6 weeks fitness results guarantee” which means that when I purchased the Bowflex Home Gym and use it for six weeks; I can return it if I am not 100 percent happy with the results. If returned with all accessories, in the original condition and packaging, then I can receive a full refund, minus shipping and handling but it has only been 2 weeks and I already notice the results that I am getting so I won’t be returning this home gym. I am in a profession where I need to maintain my strength and be in the best shape I can be in at all times.

Pros: This home gym is comfortable, easy to set up, quiet and using it on a regular basis will strengthen the muscles. I have already noticed a change in about 2 weeks. Revolution works well for general fitness, weight loss, strength and performance training and low impact exercise. It is a great piece of equipment totally worth the money that I spent.
